The Way of Freedom Week 4 Q&A
1.
Ken, Thank you very much for sharing your teaching. Would it be possible to elaborate on your answer to a student's question on the Sambhogakaya or the enjoyment body? You mentioned experiencing the dharmakaya "nothing there" with the nirmanakaya vividness of emotion at the same time—this sounds like it would be key in my daily practice as a lay practioner. I would appreciate any more pointers on how to practice this. Thanks again, Sentha
Ken responds: How to practice this? Here are a couple of approaches you might try.
Open to an experience as completely as possible. You could use music, or a view, or the experience of love, or anger. The content of the experience isn't important, but it helps if the experience is vivid. Experience the vividness as completely as possible without getting lost in the experience. Then, hold your breath for a few seconds. Everything will stop. Rest there, and open to the experience again.
