Upaya Zen Center

Upaya serves as a training center for those engaged in social service through our Chaplaincy Program. In addition, we train Zen priests and prepare students for lay ordination. The Path of Service, our residential program, which is the heart of Upaya, upwards of 20 residents have a strong daily meditation practice, study the teachings of the Buddha, and apply those teachings in work and service to our guests. Our workshop and retreat calendar focuses on practices and teachings related to engaged Buddhism, these programs come alive at Upaya's beautiful Santa Fe campus and in the Prajna Mountain Forest Refuge nestled beneath the Truchas Peaks.
