Fortune or Fortune Cookie?
My mother ran into a psychic on the streets of Zagreb more than 25 years ago, and he told her all this stuff that has come true in her life. Something else he told her at the same time, involving her money problems going away, has not happened yet. But my family, particularly my older sisters, continue to hold onto the idea that this is going to happen and are awaiting it. They believe that our family deserves good fortune because life has been very difficult. My question is, by continually referring to the this matter, and holding onto the words of the psychic and believing they deserve good fortune, is my family killing the karma of it actually happening?
“Nudgie Lama” (aka David Nichtern) responds:
The real question here is: Do you want to bet on this psychic or would you rather bet on yourselves? Personally, I wouldn’t wait around for a fortune-cookie inheritance to mature. Get out there and make some money!
