Thailand's Tiger Temple

You may have heard about Wat Pa Luang Ta Bua, the famous Tiger Temple in Thailand. Well, now the rest of the world has too. This is really just an excuse to post this fun picture. Now, if this big kitty, or his Siberian tiger cousin, were wandering the streets of Ulan Bataar would Konchog give him a home? Some info on tigers here and more on the tiger temple here. Not sure about the photo attribution but I saw it on Huffington Post.

UPDATE(S): Also on The Worst Horse here. Precious Metal here. Barbara's Buddhism Blog here.

With regards to the notorious Tiger Temple in Kanchanaburi, Thailand:
Following repeated complaints from tourists and volunteers working at the temple about tigers being shockingly mistreated there, Care for the Wild International (CWI) undertook an intensive two year investigation. The resulting CWI report reveals illegal wildlife trade, animal cruelty, false conservation claims and visitor safety risks at the Temple.

You can read the report at: http://www.careforthewild.com/projects.asp?detail=true&I_ID=580&mypage=R...

You can view the letter sent by the International Tiger Coalition to the Thai authorities protesting about the Tiger temple here:

This issue has widespread media coverage:

Please,

Do NOT go to this temple.

Please, if you care at all about animals, do not go to this temple.

And my own take: http://marcusjournal.blogspot.com/2007/09/thailands-tiger-temple-and-egg...

Tigers should be living in the wild, not bred and abused in a crowded temple zoo for the amusement of tourists.

Um, if he really, really promised not to eat my other three felines, sure! Though I might have to get a slightly larger litter box...
