Andrew Schelling is a poet and essayist who teaches at Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado, and at Deer Park Institute in Himachal Pradesh, India. His book Dropping the Bow: Poems from Ancient India will be reissued this spring by White Pine Press. Xiao’s photograph above inspired Schelling’s haiku.
