In 1993, Tricycle was honored to feature Jack Kerouac’s never-before-published work, Wake Up! Shakyamuni Buddha: A Life Retold. Spread out over 8 issues, the piece dealt with the life of Gotama Buddha as related by Ashvaghosha’s Buddha-Charita and Narasu’s Life of the Historic Buddha.
