Conflicts of Interest Every time I turn to your letters page I find another batch of readers canceling their subscriptions, citing some outrage to their sensibilities like gay tantra or Richard Gere. Do you realize that if this trend continues, you are going to be left with a readership comprising just a load of open-minded, non-judgmental types who actually welcome having their preconceptions challenged? You have been warned!David LewisLondon, England The Fifth Anniversary Special [Fall 1996] entitled “Psychedelics: Help or Hindrance?” was most welcome indeed, for in an adult, serious, balanced, and dignified mode it presented information that is usually distorted, paranoid, self-serving, politicized, and seriously misleading. Ordinary Mind I really enjoy Tricycle. I love the intellectual awareness that the articles demand of me. I am always thrilled when Tricycle comes in the mail and always learn there is hope for my path, however vague or cluttered it may become. The dharma is truth - that much I know. I am wondering whether others are out there too. I am a poor Buddhist, live a simple life and try to pay my bills. I’d like Tricycle to include me in your magazine - stories about regular folks out there working away and trying to follow the path. The Ph.D.s stimulate my intellect, but I could use a hero or two!! Thanks for listening. Jane Hilton Tucson, Arizona Bad Company More »
