TRICYCLE FOUNDATION ACTIVITES

The overwhelming success of Tricycle magazine confirms the need for a public and unaffiliated forum for Buddhist dialogue. At the same time, with growing worldwide interest in Buddhism, the scope of the Tricycle Foundation has broadened beyond the magazine’s efforts. Since 1994, the Foundation has published ten books, launched a website (tricycle.com), sponsored national public events (Change Your Mind Day), led symposia, teachings (Tricycle Teachings), hosted a conference that brought together representatives from the major Buddhist traditions, and started a Meditation Kit program for prisoners and others in need.

Most recently, the Foundation has organized Tricycle pilgrimages to India and Japan, begun an innovative Tele-Teaching Program that makes live teachings available to anyone with a telephone, and is currently organizing a groundbreaking conference on Buddhism and Psychoanalysis for October of 2007. The magazine has also become a reliable source of information for the mainstream media and a useful guide for those wishing to begin a practice. The magazine, while central, has become but one of many skillful means to disseminate the dharma.

The Tricycle Foundation is a not-for-profit educational corporation with 501 C (3) status, incorporated under the laws of the State of New York.

The Tricycle Foundation meets the Better Business Bureau's 20 Standards for Charity Accountability
