Change Your Mind Day 2005

San Antonio, Texas

Held at King William Park, in the Southtown neighborhood of San Antonio, Texas, over 50 Buddhist and other curious seekers attended the first Change Your Mind Day. One hundred and eight gongs began to ring at 10:00 am while Lhasang and Blessing of the Four Directions were offered.

The program included meditation instruction from different traditions—Insight Meditation, Zen Buddhism, Shambhala and walking; time was allowed for individual meditation instruction during short breaks. Interspersed within sitting was hatha yoga, an original music composition by Bill Colangelo and an Eido Sword Demonstration.

Participants included sanghas from around San Antonio including Yellow Dog Sangha, Insight Meditation, San Antonio Shambhala Meditation Center, Sangha del Corazon, Synergy Yoga, San Antonio Zen and Rissho Kosei-Kai. An enthusiastic and warm group convened after clean up at El Mirador Mexican restaurant to celebrate the completed event.
