Director of The Cup making new film
Bhutanese-born Buddhist teacher Dzongsar Jamyang Khyentse Rinpoche, director of The Cup (1999) andTravellers and Magicians (2003), has another film in the works, or at least he's thinking about one. For now, it's at "the concept level." What's the next one going to be about? He tells bernama.com, the Malaysian National News Agency, that this one will be about dance: I love Indian classical dance. It's one of the most beautiful and richest cultures we have on earth. Documentary about Western Tulkus to be screened tonight on CBC
It is quite the news day for the Mukpo family. The morning began with reports on the birth of a princess, while tonight, Am I reincarnated? Tulku, a documentary by Gesar Mukpo, will be screened on the CBC, Canada’s national public radio and television broadcaster (at 10 pm ET/PT). The film will also be shown on the big screen at the Boulder Theater in Colorado, on the 18th. In "The King and Us," New York Times journalist Dorothy Spears recounts her experience hosting Namgyal Wangchuk Lhagyari Trichen—the descendant of three ruling monarchs of Tibet—at her Manhattan home. Trichen, as he calls himself, was in town for ten days to show his 30-minute film "My Country is Tibet" at schools around New York in partnership with BYkids, an organization that pairs filmmakers with children and young adults to make socially conscious documentaries. A Buddhist Wedding for Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr?
Will longtime Buddhist Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr, a follower of "Japanese Buddhism," have a Buddhist wedding? (Bloom is sometimes linked with Soka Gakkai in the press.) Beyond sharing love, the two are also both Buddhists.
