Dick Allen Reads Poetry For The Tricycle Community
Five recordings of the great Buddhist poet Dick Allen are now available on the homepage of the Tricycle Community. They are: “Zen Living”, “The American Zen Master”, “At the Shrine of the Lost Cause”, “Plum”, and “Meditation on Poems for the Nine Monks”. I had the tremendous privilege of getting to record this audio over the phone with Mr. Allen earlier this year. A massive snowstorm was bombarding New York City and I remember hanging on to his every word and phrase, completely losing track of time and space as I gazed out of our office window at giant snowflakes falling past the bricks and fire escapes of Tribeca. It was quite an experience. I am very happy to share them with you all now. They can be found here on the Tricycle Community homepage. More » -

Tibet Earthquake Emergency Relief
From Tibetfund.org, We are very sad to report that hundreds have died and an estimated 10,000 mostly ethnic Tibetans were injured and left homeless in near-freezing temperatures in the aftermath of the earthquake that struck a sparsely populated region of Tibet in the early hours of April 14. More than 85 percent of the houses in Jiegu, a town of 100,000 people nearest the epicenter, were destroyed. Because solid information is still emerging from officials working in the area, it is difficult to know how many remain buried in the rubble. Most of the people in the region are Tibetan herders and farmers who are in immediate need of shelter, medicine, clothing and other necessities. More » -
