When our spiritual journey begins
Only when we have a genuine, abiding desire to free ourselves from suffering and all its causes does our spiritual journey begin. That original desire is very potent and very real. It is the basis upon which we enter the path that will lead us to our goal. Yet from the point of view of the Vajrayana, or tantric, school of Buddhism, there is no place to go on that path, no end of the road where we will one day satisfy our thirst for liberty. Why? Buddhism diagrammed
Last time I wrote about a diagram outlining Buddhism I referred to it as "Buddhism in a nutshell" (see "A picture and a thousand words"). I won't make the mistake again—some cried foul because they felt the diagram was incomplete or biased. Well, I suppose that would have to be the case for any diagram claiming to outline the whole of Buddhism (although in this case, the author makes no such claim) but I like diagrams and enjoyed this one, by blogger Sabio Lantz at Triangulations.
