The Dhammapada, one of Buddhism’s foundational scriptures, is a series of 423 verses attributed to the historical Buddha. The Rubin Museum of Art, in New York City, recently published The Way of the Buddha: The Illustrated Dhammapada. The verse and illustration above come from this beautiful new edition, which features over 300 pieces of traditional Buddhist artwork alongside classic teachings from the Pali canon
