Tricycle Talks: Ken McLeod speaks to Richard Eskow, Part 2 of 3
This post contains audio. View media now
At the 2011 Buddhist Geeks conference (the next will be in Boulder in August 2012) Tricycle Contributing Editor Richard Eskow spoke to teacher and translator Ken McLeod. Their conversation was so fruitful they decided to meet up after the conference and continue talking, and they were gracious enough to share it with us. Part 2 of their conversation is below.
In this second of three installments, they discuss the controversial idea of the Buddha as a scientist. This sounds very clinical and rational, but McLeod points out that the very idea of being a scientist is itself based on a set of beliefs. "Science," McLeod says, "is the unacknowledged religion of our age."
Part 1 of this discussion is here. Part 3 is here.
Past Tricycle Talks have featured filmmaker Ed Herzog, Patrick Groneman of the ID Project, Bon teacher Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche, and Roshi Bodhin Kjolhede.

Concerning the lack of a print facility, I highly recommend using readability.com.
I had no idea about the site; while I still believe tricycle should provide the service to it's members, this seems to be just the answer for now.
Many thanks 'boognish23'!
Shame that, as well as not having a 'print' facility on articles, you don't post these audio files for members to be able to download onto their mp3 players....
