This past weekend, to mark ten years since 9/11, the organizers of the BuddhaFest film festival in Washington, DC (with whom Tricycle partnered not long ago) put together an event featuring Sylvia Boorstein, Tara Brach, Lama Surya Das, Ruth King, Hugh Byrne, and Jonathan Foust. Read more about the event here.
Tricycle has also been marking the occasion of 9/11, with our discussion on compassion in your community with Karen Armstrong and our retreat on Natural Bravery with Acharya Gaylon Ferguson.
The organizers of BuddhaFest report that they continue to receive testimonials about the the power of the weekend, including one from a 9/11 first responder who had never been to a 9/11 memorial service—until this one.
For those of you who couldn't be there, we'll be featuring videos from this weekend of peace and healing throughout the month of September. Below, Sylvia Boorstein discusses keeping a mind and heart of peace and goodwill, despite everything.
