Tricycle | Awake in the World

It's the last few days of Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche's Rebel Buddha at the Tricycle Book Club! We've been posting daily excerpts from the book on the Tricycle Blog to inspire the conversation, which is happening here.

"We remember that the path that leads to awakening by recalling the Buddha's teachings, and we remember, too, the lineage of people who have traveled the path—and are traveling it now—all the way to freedom. When we remember them, it gives us courage, because we see that enlightenment is not just a historical even that happened once, thousands of years ago. Enlightenment is living today in the form of great teachers and communities of dedicated practitioners, East and West. They, too, are mirrors of enlightenment, in which we can see our own face. When we see in this way, we go beyond duality. There is no subject or object in that moment of openness; there is no difference between their minds and our mind, between their enlightenment and our enlightenment. The two become one. "
