PHOTOS: BGR's Walk to Feed the Hungry
Buddhist Global Relief hosted its second annual Walk to Feed the Hungry event in New York City last weekend. Bhante Buddharakkhita led a large group of walkers up and down a beautiful stretch of Riverside Park, for a 3.5 mile walk. The afternoon included memorable lines from guest speak Venerable Ji Xing ("Family is an acronym: Father and Mother, I Love You"), a vegetarian lunch, and raffle prizes (I won some tea!). Of course, as the leaders reminded participants at the end of the day, this walk is really just beginning.
Here are some pictures from the walk. Says photographer Miana Jun, "I hope these photographs share an ounce of what the beauty of the day was like."
